What We Believe
Our beliefs are rooted in the Scriptures as the inspired and authoritative Word of God.
Below is an overview of the core beliefs and convictions that shape the life and worship of Coram Deo Reformed Baptist Church.
For those who would like to explore further, our confession and additional doctrinal resources are available below.
-

Confessional
We hold to the 1689 Second London Baptist Confession of Faith as a faithful summary of biblical doctrine and a historic expression of the Reformed Baptist faith.
-

Doctrines of Grace
We believe salvation is entirely the work of God’s grace from beginning to end. We affirm the historic doctrines of grace, often summarized by the acronym “TULIP,” which emphasize God’s mercy, sovereignty, and faithfulness in saving sinners through Jesus Christ.
-

Expository Preaching
We believe the ordinary preaching of God’s Word is central to the life of the church, and we preach through books of the Bible verse by verse to faithfully proclaim the meaning of Scripture.
-

Credobaptism
We practice believer’s baptism, meaning baptism is administered to those who personally profess faith in Jesus Christ.
-

Congregationalism
We believe Christ rules His church through His Word and that the local church is to be faithfully shepherded by qualified elders raised up from within the life of the congregation, while the church body participates in mutual care, accountability, and discipleship.
-

Credocommunion
We believe the Lord’s Supper is to be received by believers who are able to examine themselves according to Scripture and partake with understanding and reverence.
The 1689 London Baptist Confession
We hold to the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith as our primary confessional standard and believe it faithfully summarizes the doctrines taught in Scripture.
Additional Statement of Faith
While the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith remains our primary confessional standard, our church also maintains an additional statement of faith addressing certain contemporary issues not explicitly covered within the confession.
